BBNaija winner Efe crowned prince of Okpe Kingdom

Winner of the 2017 Big Brother Niaja, Efe Ejeba, has been awarded a ‘honorary prince’ by the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Delta State, HRM  Felix Mujakperuo.

According to a statement, Efe,  who arrived Orerokpe through the Benin Airport in a long motorcade,  was received by the Orodje and six other traditional rulers, including the Ovie of Ughelli, at his palace in Orerokpe, headquarters of the Okpe council area of Delta State.

“The royal reception,  which was graced by traditional chiefs and politicians, was chaired by a former Minister of Information, Prof Sam Oyovbaire. HRM Mujakperuo said the Okpe Traditional Council decided to honour Efe because he had shown the world that youths from the Niger Delta region were not just about violent and criminal activities.

He said,  “Today is a great day in Okpe Kingdom. I always tell my people, whenever I wake up in the morning I will pray for Okpe people and Delta that God should make our sons and daughters to be recognised wherever they are. Today, God has answered our prayers as an Okpe son is now recognised all over the place.

“According to our tradition, when a child goes into the bush to kill a big animal, the father will honour him, and that is why we are here to honour you. You have gone to the bush to kill a big animal and we are honouring you.”
