DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT – FRUCHÉ
Finding Nigerian fashion designers who are making a huge difference on the fashion scene always brings us pleasure. We love to throw the spotlight on them, and today, we have the creative director, Frank Aghuno of Fruché.
I first discovered the talented young man at the Fayrouz L’original contest in 2015, when he was a member of the winning team, Meddlelane. At the time, I knew Frank would be one to watch in 2016, and he has certainly proven me right.
Prior to that time, he had showcased his creative designs at the biggest fashion show in West Africa, GTB Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2014 where he literally blew people’s minds. This year he released his Spring/Summer ’16 collection tagged ‘Nkeiruka’ and since the unveil, his designs have been worn by celebrities and fashion enthusiasts.
Spotted rocking looks from the brand are Zina Anumudu, Zainab Balogun, Bolanle Olukanni, Nikki Anyansi, Stephanie Coker, Makida Moka, Seyi Shay, Folu Storms just to name a few.
Bright colours, cut-outs and high slits are some of the designer’s aesthetics, His designs are trendy and chic, which is why we are featuring him on our Designer Spotlight column today.
