Kenneth Bitrus Yakubu, the younger brother to the embattled former group managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was whisked away on Friday, February 3, by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Officials of the EFCC picked up Kenneth after his house was raided in Sabuwan Tasha slum of Kaduna state. According to Daily Nigerian, neither Kenneth nor his elder brother, Andrew live in the house but the building is left in care of a house keeper. Bitrus Yakubu lives in a bigger house in the city. He is described as a very religious person in his 50s and a 1989 graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. EFCC recovered $9.8 million in cash from a secret bunker owned by Dr. Andrew Yakubu who is a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. According to EFCC, the discovery was made on February 3 in a building belonging to Yakubu which is located in the slums of Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna.
